Cubed Steak Parmesan

What You'll Need

  • 2 beef cubed steak
  • 1/4 C. all purpose flour
  • 1/3 C. italian bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp. my house seasoning (equal parts garlic powder, onion powder and pepper...combine and store in an airtight container)
  • vegetable oil for frying
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 T. water
  • 1 1/3 C. pasta sauce
  • 2 tsp. grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 oz. mozzarella cheese
  • cooked pasta for serving (I used angel hair)

How to Make It

  1. Combine the flour, breadcrumbs and seasoning in a large ziploc bag. Beat together the egg and water. Heat enough oil to just cover the bottom of a skillet over med. high heat. Dredge a piece of cubed steak in the egg mixture then place in the bag and shake to coat. Place in the heated oil and repeat with remaining meat. Fry a minute or two per side till golden brown (they will continue cooking in the oven). Remove to a paper towel lined plate to drain. Pour 1 C. of the pasta sauce in the bottom of a 9x9 pan and spread to cover. Place the meat on top of the sauce and spread the remaining sauce over the meat. Top each with 1 tsp. of parmesan cheese and bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Remove and top with the mozzarella cheese, return to the oven for 5-10 minutes or until the cheese is good and melted. Sprinkle the tops with a little dried basil if you like before serving over the pasta.
